Interesting

I found the video very interesting. I know many people can relate to the different body issues shown in the presentation. I though that it was creative to take pictures and highlight the body issues that some people feel with the text. I also thought the music was powerful and contributed to the presentation. I think women often feel a lot more pressure from society to look like Barbie. Myself, I am overweight, but I don't feel the pressure from society that I think an overweight female might feel. I think people have created and allowed the stereotypes to become so prevalent in today’s society.

I found this very interesting as well. I related to it so much because I complain about half of the things that were in the video that I have on my body. Music is one of my mood controllers, so the music to this was very powerful to me as well. I am overweight as well, however pressures from society do hit me hard everyday. Im afraid to act myself because I dont want to be looked weirdly upon, because of my size. I wish I can not feel pressure like you.

I think it is inevitable to relate to the slideshow. It was eye opening to see how many negative perspectives there were compared to postive ones

So what do you believe is the answer to turn these messages around. . .indeed, we can all relate to this disdain and dissatisfaction with our bodies, but how can we turn this wrongthink into right-think? As MPB has said, learning to dissect and analyze the media messages being thrust into our faces day in and day out is one of the first steps to recognizing the 95% of the messages we receive are wrong. Let's start a revolution.
